Student Leadership

Student leadership at Somerville Primary School provides students with opportunities to build confidence, demonstrate responsibility and positively contribute to our school community. Through roles such as School Captains, Vice Captains, Ambassadors and SEEC Leaders, students are encouraged to lead by example and support others.

Lexie F
School Captain

Hi my name is Lexie I am School Captain for 2026. In my free time I enjoy playing all different sports, this includes basketball and gymnastics. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, baking and getting crafty with wool and all different things. I went for School Captain because I enjoy helping out the community, looking after younger kids and looking after our school. I wanted to become a School Captain to know what being a leader felt like and to learn how to take on challenging tasks and to help out our
school. As School Captain so far I’ve enjoyed hosting school assemblies and events and being able to tell myself that I’m here because my school thinks I’m a good leader. I’m looking forward to the rest of my last year here at SPS and cannot wait for the amazing year ahead with lots more opportunities.

Isaac H
School Captain

Hi my name is Isaac, I am a School Captain for 2026. Some things I enjoy are playing sports, jumping in the pool and just having fun. I wanted to become a School Captain because being School Captain isn’t just about the badge or getting to speak at assembly, it’s about getting up there and having a go and it also gets you ready for the real world in case you want to become a federal leader one day. The thing I enjoy about being School Captain is speaking at assembly and the feeling that I am basically the role model of the school. Everyone looks up to me as well as being the School Captain. I’m still just a regular ordinary year six student and I’m proud of that.

Keeva B
Vice Captain

Hi, I’m Keeva, one of your 2026 Vice Captains! I’m psyched to be your leader this year! I try my best to bring energy, and make school a place where everyone feels included and supported. When I’m not on the soccer field scoring goals or in the kitchen baking up a storm, I’m always trying out new things and embracing every challenge that comes my way. Whether I’m leading, helping out, or just sharing a laugh, I aim to lift others up and create a positive vibe that makes school memorable. In the future, I hope to keep growing as a leader, chase exciting opportunities, and make a real difference in my community, with confidence, kindness, and a big smile!

Sonny L
Vice Captain

Hi my name is Sonny, and I am a Vice Captain at SPS. My favourite things to do are play sports, hang out with my friends, and catch up with family. I wanted to be a school leader because I knew it would be a huge responsibility and I knew I was up for a challenge. Being a leader in 2026 has shown me how much time and effort goes into each event and how many people look up to you. Being a leader also shows you even if your friends are doing the wrong thing you have to do the right thing even when it’s hard. I am looking forward to the rest of my last year as a primary student and going into high school with most of my friends.

Brylee R
Ambassador

Hi im Brylee and im in class and I am an Ambassador for the year 2026. Some of the things I like doing out of school are playing sports, hanging out with friends and family, painting, drawing and making lots of other cool stuff. The reason I signed up for Ambassador is because I want to make our school a fun place for everyone to enjoy and have a nice safe community. I can’t wait for the school to be an even better place with our next leaders for 2027!

Charlotte M
Ambassador

Hi I’m Charlotte, I’m an ambassador for 2026. Some of things I like doing in general are Aussie Rules Football, basketball and surfing. I wanted to become an ambassador for SPS because I wanted to help the school be the best it can be. Yes I am an ambassador but I’m still a normal 12 year old girl just like everyone else and I make mistakes but I learn from them and grow from them.

Rueben R
Ambassador

Hi my name is Reuben, and I am an Ambassador for 2026. Some things I enjoy doing are playing basketball and footy, playing video games with my friends and talking to my family. I wanted to be an Ambassador because I wanted to help out my school to be a better place. Some things I enjoy doing as an Ambassador are setting up and packing down the quiet space, collecting house points and running assemblies.

Hayley C
Ambassador

Hi, my name is Hayley and I am one of Somerville Primary School’s 2026 School Ambassadors. I am so thrilled to be a leader at SPS. Some things about me are that I love playing soccer and spending time with my friends. I put my hand up and wrote a speech to become a leader because I wanted to help improve our school and make it an even better place than it already is. I can’t wait to see how much our school continues to grow and improve in the future.

Dayne R
SEEC

Hi my name is Dayne, I am a SEEC leader for 2026. Some things I enjoy doing are playing football, riding dirtbikes and hanging out with friends. I wanted to be the SEEC leader because I like taking care of the environment. The things I like doing as a SEEC leader so far are playing a role in assembly and taking care of the environment.

Siana J
SEEC

Hi, my name is Siana and I am one of Somerville Primary School’s 2026 SEEC Leaders. I am proud to represent my school and always aim to demonstrate our expected behaviours and take action when problems arise. Some things I love to do include playing basketball at any time of the week, especially while listening to music. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, helping others, and sketching in my free time. I am thrilled to be a leader, and I did not apply for this role just for the badge. I genuinely believe in leading my school and supporting others in any way I can. I am excited to finish my final year at Somerville Primary School and look forward to the many opportunities ahead as a SEEC Leader.
