Indigenous Perspectives

Our school has a strong focus on Indigenous Perspectives and aims to build understanding, respect, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and perspectives across the whole school.

Through meaningful experiences such as a whole school Smoking
Ceremony, Indigenous excursions, and cultural incursions, students are
given opportunities to learn from First Nations peoples and deepen their
understanding of Australia’s rich and continuing cultures. This program
supports reconciliation and helps students develop respect for the world’s
oldest continuing cultures.

This program provides authentic, hands-on learning experiences that
connect students directly with Indigenous voices, stories, and traditions.
Whole school events foster a shared sense of respect and community, while
excursions and incursions allow students to engage more deeply with
culture, Country, and history. By embedding Indigenous perspectives into
school life, the program promotes cultural awareness, inclusivity, and a
stronger sense of belonging for all students.
