Numeracy
We are focused on delivering a high quality, ambitious Numeracy program built on the belief that every child can learn mathematics to a high level, supported by evidence-based research and current best practice.

At our school, the Numeracy program is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and focuses on developing students’ understanding, fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Mathematics learning is designed to be engaging, hands-on, and relevant, helping students to confidently apply mathematical concepts in everyday life and across all areas of learning. Through the Numeracy program, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to engage with mathematics in school, everyday life, and future learning.
In Prep to Year 2, students explore key mathematical concepts such as number and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability. They develop foundational skills in counting, addition and subtraction, shape recognition, time, money, and data interpretation. Lessons use hands-on activities, games, and visual representations to make abstract concepts concrete and meaningful.
In Years 3 to 6, students build on foundational skills to develop more complex mathematical understanding. They explore number and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability in greater depth, including multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, area, perimeter, and data analysis. Lessons encourage reasoning, problem-solving, and the application of mathematics to real-world contexts.
